Manage Construction Materials and Geotechnical Field and Laboratory Testing program in its entirety, perform laboratory testing and field observations as necessary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 

 

  1. Follow all safety and quality protocols and procedures.
  2. Manage Construction Materials Testing (CMT) aspect of the business
  3. Review, organize and plan the CMT schedule to ensure on-time completion and efficient allocation of resources
  4. Maintain compliance to Quality System and ensure all services are performed in accordance with contract and industry standards
  5. Perform data accumulation, calculation and analysis of testing results.
  6. Contract Management including billing.
  7. Communicate with client, contractor, and other parties involved with project, including in-house Principals, Engineers and Project Managers.
  8. Oversee and monitor CMT equipment to ensure that it is properly maintained and calibrated.
  9. Perform special assignments as requested.
  10. Maintain an acceptable driving record.

 

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE and TRAINING: 

  1. Successful candidate must meet one of the following degree/certification profiles with 5 years minimum experience, 2 of which must be in a management role:
    • Bachelor of Science Degree – Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field
    • Current licensed Professional Engineer in New Mexico or be able to obtain one 10 years minimum in related field (may be combined with college education  )
    • Certified Senior Engineering Technician (S.E.T.)
    • Current Construction Materials Testing Level IV Certification in Soils, Concrete, and Asphalt in accordance with the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET),
  2. Able to obtain Laboratory Technician Certifications for Aggregate, Asphalt/Superpaveä,  and Superpaveä Mix Design in accordance with the requirements set forth by the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT).
  3. Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office, including Excel spreadsheets.
  4. Strong organizational and team management skills.
  5. Self directed with good oral and written communication skills.
