- October 1965: The consulting engineering firm, Richard R. Pettigrew & Associates began with the acquisition of Howard Schmieding & Associates of Portales, New Mexico.
- 1977: Pettigrew & Associates incorporated as a Professional Association.
- December 1982: N. Grimes, Hobbs office opened.
- 1990: Debra Pettigrew Hicks purchased the firm, changing the status of the company to a woman owned small business enterprise.
- 1995: Corporate office moved to Hobbs, NM.
- 2009: Randy Pettigrew returns to the firm.
- July 2012: New office opens in Pettigrew Plaza at 100 E. Navajo Drive, Hobbs, NM.
The consulting engineering firm, Richard R. Pettigrew & Associates began in October, 1965 with the acquisition of Howard Schmieding & Associates of Portales, New Mexico. The firm specialized in civil and municipal engineering and surveying. With the acquisition of Richard P. Cheney & Associates of Clovis, New Mexico soils engineering and materials testing was added to the portfolio. The firm was incorporated in 1977 as Pettigrew & Associates, a Professional Association. In 1990, Debra Pettigrew Hicks purchased the firm, changing the status of the company to a woman owned small business enterprise.
In 2012, Pettigrew & Associates moved into new offices located at 100 E. Navajo Drive in Hobbs.
